Jones Sports provided Design Assist Services for the brand-new Chase Center, home to the Golden State Warriors. This new construction project was a Mortenson/Clark Joint Venture with Jones Sports tasked with fabricating and installing all interior and exterior signage for the new arena.
Jones Sports was tapped to fabricate and install all interior and exterior signage packages at the new Chase Center in San Francisco. One of the biggest challenges was in securing the Chase brand signage to the glass curtain wall and to the roof of the arena. Our team got to work designing both the signage elements and the attachment methods needed to secure them. Each of the roof letters is 47-feet high. Our installers secured the letters individually after identifying precise attachment points on the steel underneath the roof membrane and decking.
Jones Sports used three-dimensional scanning technology to locate the attachment points on the steel truss system and roof membrane. 187 outriggers were welded to these points to support the roof letters. Throughout the project, Jones Sports worked closely with the State Fire Marshal to ensure that each phase was reviewed and approved prior to moving on to the next stage. Project timelines were maximized through quick starts, modular construction, and a proactive, partnership approach.
The Chase Center was a slam-dunk for Jones Sports. By using the three-dimensional technology, we were able to increase the speed of delivery of our construction drawings and saved hundreds of hours of installation time.
