The toughest challenge of this project came down to the sheer size of the video board. At 12-stories high this structure is enormous. Its location above and behind the stadium seating posed a particular challenge in installation of a video board at an existing site. Specialty footings were required to support and secure the video board. Jones Sports conducted extensive planning and engineering to ensure the rebar mats were installed correctly and brought in an independent  third-party to test the concrete footings for safety and stability. Ensuring the steel structure was plumb and level from all sides was crucial to the final result since the video board would be made up of thousands of LED modules that would only display correctly when in perfect sync with one another.

Our roadmap for construction centered on the use of modular construction techniques. We fabricated 10' x 54'' sections at our production facility. This approach allowed us to maintain strict control over the size, shape, and quality of the individual components, reduced shipping and freight challenges, and made it possible for the Jones Sports team of installers to align the sections with absolute precision. This precision was crucial to proper operation of the LED modules. and would ensure the Big Hoss could begin broadcasting immediately. Panasonic complemented Jones Sports on this turnkey approach.

The end result is a video board that is big enough for Texas. The Big Hoss TV is installed in pride of place at the motor track, directly in the center of the track backstretch. This project demonstrates Jones Sports' ability to innovate effective solutions and coordinate with partners to meet customer needs and exceed their expectations.
